What ethnicity is Monet supposed to be? I actually have no idea anymore. She's still a great character but I think a character's race should be different to say Scarlet Witch and Rogue's constantly shifting eye colours.
Monet is Algerian. And realize, the early M wasn’t her, but her other two sisters combining and impersonating her. So that in itself may account in some way for the shift in skin pigmentation. Or not.
For more information, Algeria is a country in North Africa. Algerian isn’t really an ethnicity. Algeria and its neighbors Morocco, Tunisia, and Libya all have majority Berber ethnic populations. Here is a picture of a woman of Berber ancestry who I think probably looks a lot like what Monet ought to look like:
